Oralia Mercado
Executive Director, Mountain Plains Agricultural Service

I totally disagree with you [about illegal immigration]. I do believe that Latinos bring a richness to our country, to our states. They do jobs that no one else will do, and that is a fact. We bring workers from not just Latin American countries but from all over the world to do jobs that nobody else wants in agriculture, and we do it legally. I just think that this country is rich because of the Latinos; I think that we have a lot to contribute. Those of us who have been here longer than a lot of the Anglo community that's been here, I think that we have hundreds of years. I am from New Mexico and so my generations go back to the 1500's and I welcome the Latinos to come here and welcome them in every phase of the community. Unfortunately, that's not the case for every community in Wyoming: they are not welcome.
